Can Spirits have Dementia?

I had something interesting happen and I wanted to share it.

I was at a thrift store and I found a memorial piece that had a photo and a name to it (no ashes - I checked). I thought it was strange to find a memorial piece at a thrift store since most people keep those. I picked it up and I could already feel a spirit attached to it. I could feel a sense of fear and confusion. I grabbed the piece and took it home.

When I was at home, I placed it on a table and got out all my tools and set them down. I asked it a series of routine questions - What is your name? Are you male or Female? What would you like?

Most of the answers I got were "Don't Know" type answers. When the spirit did not answer with the name on the piece I figured that a spirit was passing by, saw it, and attached to it. No big deal. But it didn't seem to know if it was male or female. It didn't answer any of the other questions really except what it wanted. It wanted "Home."

This can be taken a few ways. Sometimes a spirit may want to find a home - usually children. Sometimes they want to go back home. This spirit was coming off as an adult so I went with the "go back home" route thinking maybe the piece got donated by accident and it wanted to be back home. I started asking it where home was. again I got "Don't know" and "Not Here". A friend asked, "Do you want to Move On?" The pendulum started swinging "Yes" There was a pitch in the energy, some feverish feeling that it just wanted to get out. I decided to phrase the question a different way - just to make sure we were understanding correctly. I asked, "Do you want to move on to the Next Life?" The pendulum swung "No."

Weird, right?

Right around then, I started thinking about the frantic energy, the "Don't Know" answers and wanting to go Home. I had a thought: This spirit might have Dementia. I never actually thought of a spirit having dementia before but it seemed like a possibility. It explains not being able to answer the questions and not knowing where Home is but being on a quest to find it. For many with dementia, Home is a feeling not necessarily a place. Someone with dementia could be in their home, their room, their bed, and could still be saying that they need to go home. This generally comes from feeling some sort of uneasiness about where they are that makes their surroundings seem unfamiliar. This spirit probably saw its picture and name and attached to it, then got donated somehow, was in a thrift store with lots of people coming through and might not have understood what was happening. Some spirits don't know they've passed. I'm not sure if she didn't know or not, I'm just putting that in as food for thought. I'm no Doctor, so I cannot actually say for sure that this is what the spirit has, but it seems like a possibility.

In any case, what I did was I tried to create a peaceful loving place for her to live. She took to the children pretty quickly and they tell me they like her. There are also two other spirits which are similar in age to her. After a few hours her energy was much less frantic and she seemed more at peace. I let her adjust to the new place and checked in with her about two weeks later. I asked her again if she wanted to Move On and she replied "No." I asked her if she still wanted to go home and she replied "No." and I asked her if she felt like this place was a home and she said "yes." She was also able to answer a question about her name and age which was a great improvement. She could have dementia or any other confusion or what happened to her could have been so sudden and unexpected that she had an episode of confusion. In the living, episodes of confusion can happen with rapid change and agitation and then once they calm down they have less confusion.

I am not an expert on spirits and I do not pretend to be. I never thought that if a living person had a similar thing when alive that it would continue when they've passed. But there are spirits such as those in old asylums who continue to have mental illnesses so it seems possible for one to have something like Dementia or confusion. This post is really just food for thought and I have not found any articles or videos or any material on anything like this happening. I wanted to get my experience out there because if I had an experience like this then surely others have or will?
