A Quick Introduction

 Hello and welcome to my Blog!

This blog will most likely be of little note and possibly not very interesting. The subject of this blog will be on Haunted Dolls or Spirit Dolls. Being raised in a very oppressively Christian household I grew up with a fear of anything related to spirits. Despite that I've always been able to sense spirits throughout my life. This is known by some as Clairsentience and I believe that most people have it. There are different types of Clair sentience which I will describe below:

Clairvoyance: The ability to see spirits. They may appear to you as orbs, or even apparitions. 

Clairaudient: The ability to hear spirits. Footsteps, whispers, laughter

Claircognition: Knowing things about the spirit world. This can look like a 'gut feeling' or thoughts/ images/ etc entering your mind. 

Clairsentience: knowing details based on either being near the spirit or touching something that belonged to them.

The definitions of these can be described in many different ways and surely various sources will give you different definitions or examples, and a lot of these clair-abilities can be quite similar. Some people find certain abilities easier than others, and some need to be developed. I do believe that every being is able to learn and develop these abilities. As for myself I have Claircognition and Clairsentience. I have been Clairaudient in the past as most children are but over time this ability has decreased. Use it or lose it, right? 

Since becoming an adult I have gotten used to being around spirits. It seems like every place I've lived has been haunted or some portal was nearby. Generally, I've gotten used them and we learned to coexist. I learned to respect them and their boundaries and their spaces, and they mine. It's been a very nice arrangement.

Slight background, my family collects dolls. The really nice definitely-not-toys-so-don't-touch-them-kind. They've always felt real to me. Too real, like they were people. Mainly I learned to ignore this for many years because dolls aren't people, right? Recently I found out that many of the dolls I have inherited over the years were haunted. I also acquired a few from estate sales and thrift shops. I never intended on finding haunted dolls. I just happened upon them. Every time I get a doll that is haunted I have it checked out by multiple local mediums just in case. 

Eventually I started watching those ghost hunter shows and sometimes they would have possessed dolls called haunted dolls or spirit dolls. Normally in these shows they have the famous ones. The ones that have a reputation for causes havoc. Slowly I started getting more curious: How did these dolls get possessed? What were they possessed with? What made them act the way they do? Are they all bad? 

I started to do some research on them and of course I found cautionary tales about dolls that have caused people harm or were otherwise malevolent. This information is good and of course people should read them to learn how to stay out of trouble, but I realized something. It was really hard to find information on the dolls that wanted to live beside us and who would not do any harm. 

There are some videos of mediums with their dolls who are not malevolent on YT, insta, and tiktok but they still don't seem to answer some questions that I have. So partly this blog is for me to research the answers to my own questions but I also wanted to record my journey with these dolls that I have collected. My hope that by publishing my journey on this blog I might help someone else who has these questions, or maybe add to someone else's research.
